What happens Halo 3 ODST?
Taking place in the Kenyan port city of New Mombasa, ODST follows a squad of elite Marine Orbital Drop Shock Troopers during the Covenant invasion of Earth on October 20, 2552. The game occurs directly after the events of the Halo 2 level Metropolis, when the Prophet of Regret performs a slipspace jump in New Mombasa.

The Legendary only efter credits scene shows the Prophet of Truth inspecting the excavation of the Forerunner portal. The scene takes place between seeing the Dreadnaught and Chief shooting across the night sky at the begining of Halo 3, Tsavo Highway (at wich point you can see the ark is fully excavated).
